I am excited to run for Supervisor because I believe San Mateo County deserves leaders willing to solve problems by working hard and thinking creatively.

In my six years on the Redwood City School Board and as President of the San Mateo County School Boards Association, I have worked to balance budgets while protecting our students from cuts. I’ve focused on making our District more open and responsive to the community.  And, despite the most difficult financial situation facing local governments since the Great Depression, we have made necessary cuts, while still overseeing increased academic performance.

I will bring my experience in public service and managing non-profits to help encourage a more vibrant local economy that creates jobs and maintains our quality of life, while protecting our most vulnerable residents.  As a non-profit leader, a public servant and a mom, I understand that San Mateo County is built on strong communities that support our children, youth and families.

I am ready to roll up my sleeves and work every day to bring these values to the Board of Supervisors – it’s what I’ve always done and what I love to do.  I know what it takes to make our county a better place to live, work and do business — and what we can achieve by working together.
